Designed for an engineer–lawyer couple and their two teenage children, Bakman House reimagines a traditional Tudor-style home in Studio City through a thoughtful remodel, addition, and garage-to-ADU conversion. While working within budget constraints, the design preserves the home’s historic character and introduces clean, contemporary refinements that elevate both function and comfort.
Distinctive clerestory windows were incorporated throughout the primary suite, closet, and bathroom—bringing soft, natural light deep into the home while maintaining privacy and architectural cohesion. The new ADU is positioned with careful consideration, offering independence for guests or extended family while remaining visually and socially connected to the main residence.
The result is a modernized Tudor with a warm, timeless presence—one that respects its original charm while meeting the evolving needs of a growing family.
