In this multi-family property, the addition of two ADU’s presented challenges due to the constrained site and the requirement to design two bedrooms within each ADU. To overcome these challenges and create a comfortable living environment, a strategy was implemented to incorporate high volumes where they were needed the most. When placing the windows and skylights several factors were taken into consideration, including the need for natural light, ventilation and privacy.
